| A welcome fate for cllr Driver |
It seems that finally Driver is being taken to task for his unending, incorrect, self serving, self indulgent bullshit! Finally the council leader takes the joke that is Cllr Driver to task for abusing his position!
Lets hope that he is stripped of his position on a committee that he has turned into a joke whilst pursuing his own pet indulgences, and that he is taken to task in the High Court, perhaps then he will understand that making accusations against people, whilst abusing the privilege is unacceptable, and that his woeful attempts to promote himself, via any passing bandwagon, is abhorrent, and he should crawl back under the stone he crawled out from under.
Perhaps in future he will promote himself via his favourite form of vandalism, graffiti!

ReplyDeleteMaybe because he is an offence to every standard one expects of a councillor, Peter. If he became the thin end of the wedge that opened the way for more of his political persuassion to enter our local government, it would indeed be a sad day for Thanet.
DeleteThat said, whilst I would like to hope that John is right and he will finally be dealt with, TDC does not have a good track record on dealing with miscreants. A slap on the wrist will have no effect on this man so he should at least be stripped of the Scrutiny chair which he has blatantly used to further his own self promoting agenda.
Most of those who have fallen from good grace before have been from personal failings, this man simply ignores all standards, has no respect for the confidentiality sometimes necessary in public office and thinks shouting insults across the chamber amounts to debate.
Obsessed with Driver Checksfield? No my man, simply with his insistance on bullshitting for those naive enough to take him seriously, and for the poor well meaning people who's campaigns this joke of a local "politician" takes over to shamelessly promote himself.
ReplyDeleteWell said Tom, the joke that is Driver has no place in public life, and should simply be consigned to the wilderness where washed up and failed politicians such as himself and Worrow should be segregated, and prevented from taking up any position with any responsibilty attached.
Perhaps another point, and very important one, about Driver, Peter, is that, whilst he uses his rights in a democracy, particularly freedom of speech, you would find those rights very rapidily disappearing for the rest of us if his ilk ever got control.
ReplyDeleteThe real danger, as John has pointed out, is when the naive get sucked in by his bluster and start to believe he really is the people's champion. Using a party machine, Labour in this instance, to gain office and then attacking all and sundry in the government to which he has been elected in order to discredit them, is straight from the Marxist manual.
You could kiss your much vaunted love and peace goodbye if this man's politics ever took over.
John, take a look at Driver's latest posting on his blog for not only is he still unable to grasp that his encouragement of vandalism was in anyway ill conceived, but he has the audacity to call Cllr David Green obese. Now the good mayor of Ramsgatge may be on the large side, but I doubt his waistband is any larger than that of Driver himself. Clearly the man is in total denial or has banned all mirrors from his house.
ReplyDeleteHe also claims that said Cllr Green is trying to rubbish the opposition in the run up to the county council elections. Seems to me all he rubbished on his 'Ramsgate Matters' was the dreaded Driver, so is the latter now saying he is going to oppose Green in May. That should be interesting though, probably like all his bluster about running for Kent Police Commissioner, it is the usual hot air that will come to nothing.
