John, off thread but my only means of contacting you is to use this site.
Over on Ian Driver's blog he proclaims "The Great Thanet Art Theft" and goes on to claim that valuable collections donated to the public have been stolen. Now, if this were true, you would expect the police to be called in but, no, it has been referred to Scrutiny & Overview who have less criminal investigative skills than my dog. At least she can sniff out a bone stealing fox.
Elsewhere, Tony Ovenden has written some more informative posts about his concerns over the poor management and security of items left to the museum though in less sensationalist terms than Driver. Nonetheless, these still suggest the possibility of theft.
Surely this should be passed to the police and not simply served up as yet another bandwagon for Driver to exploit.
Very true Tom, I had noticed this latest case of bandwagon leaping from our little fat friend, but had been to busy to comment. However, I shall address that issue without further delay :-)
