Seems clear that the return of airshows to Manston is a HUGE success! I have been to airshows throught the UK, and even a couple abroad. I have yet to goto one that doesn't involve HUGE traffic jams, long delays and long walks at some point in the day, to suppose Manston could be different and everyone turn up with no dealy and simply breeze into a car park, next to the runway really is fairy land!
It will doubtless have it's critics, pontificating about issues they have no understanding of, but it certainly bought money and people to Thanet, who will hopefuly return in the future.
I wonder how long before Thanets very own bandwagon jumper Driver begins his usual ill informed atatck on another of Thanet's successes, and how long before he reports it to some entity somewhere to try to have it fined...
I never agree with John, easy to shout like Driver with nothing to back it up with, Nevertheless it took me 20 mins from leaving home to parking at Manston, Usualy takes longer when leaving westwood on sat afternoon which is thanks to TDC's road plans, and it took me half an hour to get home, i left at 5, i can hear all the ego's now shouting, scobie and all politicians cant even keep a car park open [arlington] so i am not listening to him and his like any more, remember the BIG EVENT, TDC couldnt even attract a charity stall, the air show was brill, lots of local stalls, toilets clean and plenty of them and well looked after, Shame on All TDC polticians and council officers, the big event was a farce, and they got outsider traders, local were not welcome, YOU LOT AT KCC AND TDC BACK OFF, you have ruined enough already..

Travelled from Broadstairs via Westwood Cross, where the traffic was no worse than any other Saturday, through Manston village and then joined a short queue for the car park. On leaving, enjoyed a cuppa in the Merlin to let the car park clear a bit and then drove home, again via WC, in about twenty minutes.
ReplyDeleteAirshow was great, lots to see in the air and on the ground, massive turnout of happy people, so sod the Thanet whingers, nothing could ever make them happy other than turning Thanet into a giant cemetery.
Good to see that you are realising that unlike Driver and the various nimbys, I do in reality post correct and factual information that is easily checked and confirmed.
