Cllr Driver sinks to new lows!

Well I didn't think it was possible, but Cllr Driver sinks to new lows of childishness and hypocrisy!

After his stunningly insightful, witty, intellectual and wonderfully argued post in his blog and Facebook group, entitled "liar liar cllr Poole's Pants on fire", followed by his indignation at beings asked not to reveal that he is being investigated by TDC for breaches of standards (making allegations he can't prove whilst protected from legal action by only making those allegations in the council chamber, and refusing to make them else where despite being challenged to do so), we are treated to his stunning hypocrisy.

In his blog, he bravely states "I hate secrecy in public affairs. I can't be doing with it", to right! Free speech is important, and comments challenging elected officials should be answered not side stepped and ignored. So imagine my surprise when I tried to make a post on Cllr Driver's blog when I saw the following message

"your comment will be visible after approval" (check out the attached screen cap)

WOW! So let me get this straight, Cllr Driver expects to be able to say what he likes, when he likes, where he likes (so long as he doesn't have to back it up, or face legal action of course), yet he has decided that it's perfectly acceptable for him to censor posts that challenge him and his highly questionable actions, whenever he see's fit!

Oh dear, I'm not sure whether Cllr Driver is simply misguided, a fool, a hypocrite or simply a bare faced liar. What ever the truth proves to be, he has demonstrated why he has no place in public office, and should immediately consider his position.

TDC has enough to contend with, without those who chose to grandstand for their own engrandishment, as Cllr Driver does on a day to day basis.

  1. yes, I know its quite hurtful when that happens. Ramsgate Mayor David Green did that to me and I felt both rage and shame. I realise now he was protecting me. We all make mistakes, and I am sure that if we make progress with our respective blogs we may well feel compelled to do the same.

  2. Not only is Ian Driver now censoring comment on his blog but he has deleted the liar, liar posting. Evidently he must have realised he transgressed council conduct standards, though why that should concern him on this occassion when he has so much previous for unacceptable behaviour in public office remains a mystery.

What is worrying is the number of normally sensible people being sucked in by his latest bandwagon where he is being upheld as some kind of people's champion over the Pleasurama issue.

  3. Thank you for your comments Solo Gays. I think it's fair to say that the last person I need assistance from is cllr Driver, unless of course I need assistance in practising hypocrisy, or recognising, and jumping upon passing bandwagons.

I saw that Tom, I suspect a child pointed out to Cllr Driver that his "Cllr Poole's pants on fire" post was being used as an educational tool at remedial learning centres, as an example of how children who seek attention act when they don't have a large enough audience. I'm not sure that Cllr Driver understands what council conduct standards when not being applied to conduct that doesn;t address sexual orientation, as that seems to be the only council standard that he's interested in. Having said that, now that he's thrown cllr Worrow under the bus, no doubt that particular source of play ground games will now be less important for Cllr Driver.

He will abandon the Pleasurama issue as soon as the spotlight turns elsewhere Tom, as he has live animal exports, Tesco in Margate, Cllr Worrow, pollution of beaches, NHS, QEQM A&E etc etc etc. Then some real progress can be made. The only thing his presense ensures is Cllr Drivers self promotion.

Want to know where he'll pop up next, easy, look for where there is local media interest, and Cllr Driver is sure to appear with some bluster and bullshit.

    1. What I love is on his site where he claims to be a husband and dad yet made much of his bisexuality when it suited him. My wife would just love it, I am sure, if I was to suddenly announce I fancy blokes as well or do the normal standards of faithfulness and respect for one's spouse, not to mention their feelings, apply when seeking another PR topic.

By the way, you missed Thanet Earth, Broadstairs Broadway Practice and the called for boycott of the Margate Pizza restaurant. I am sure there are others.

  4. Oh his and Worrow's sexuality bored me to tears sometime ago. Seems it is something they drag out when media needs attracting. Still at least Worrow has finally at last torpedoed his own career! I could genuinely not give a ****** **** about any of TDC's sexuality, the only person/people who have made it an issue is these 2 clowns. If someone said to me "hope you get lung cancer", once I had dealt with them personally, that really is the end of the disagreement.

The fact that i smoked HUGE amounts till recently makes the comment apt, but it is no more a police/council matter, than my shoe size! Seems nobody knows what Worrow stands for, having been elected under a flag he abandoned when it was advantageous, and, and Driver, well he'll stand for anything that will have a spot on the news tonight.

Thanet Earth I missed (bet he was against it right?), the Broadway practise, nope, i saw him leap onto that bandwagon, with his pet videographer, what did a Pizza restaurant do to offend him? Were they homophobic in their use of only hetrosexual tomatoes, grown at Thanet Earth? Driver really is a joke, and has been for a long long time.

    1. Thanet Earth, jointly with the Red House mob in Broadstairs and some union, he kicked off that they were breaking employment law paying below the odds to immigrant workers. Various demos including at Westwood X and then it all turned out to be a false accusation. No more media interest so, you guessed it, no more Driver.

The lady owner of the pizza restaurant gave an interview where she talked up Margate's Turner induced revival but also described some of the local life forms in despairing terms. In jumped he of the loud hailer with calls for all and sundry to boycott her restaurant. One has to wonder what he actually does for the folk in the Ramsgate ward that elected him, under a Labour banner, when he seems to be fighting high profile battles every else. Maybe there are not too many media stories in Northwood.
